The Luisa toy is probably the most impressive thing to come out of Encanto. Like, what’s the toy made out of? Titanium?

2:07 I love how she is using her skin condition to make something even more beautiful out of it!

12:06 While i don’t really care whether Mirabel and Bruno are gay or not, implying Luisa is trans simply because she is muscular and strong is a tad insulting, cause it implies that women can’t naturally be buff. They’re also going with the ‘butch lesbian’ stereotype it seems because Luisa is buff, which once again doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

(These are my thoughts, I didn’t watch what the lady said afterwards)

That last one, I agree with her. As a part of the LGBTQ+ community, I can see how Luisa shouldn’t be thought of as trans. She is a strong woman, and has a deep voice. She might be muscular, but she doesn’t have to be trans either.

10:06 I feel like Bruno's complexion is also because he stayed in the WALLS for YEARS. My boi got NO SUN

Even as a white queer person I could see what’s wrong with saying Luisa is trans
She is a strong feminist person
If you wanna say that Isa is Lesbian you do you but realize that there might be more and except criticism

Everybody is talking about that mirabel should've burnt the candle out but did ANYONE notice that in the starting of the movie it was said that it is a candle that could never go out but bcuz of the fight between abuella and mirabel the candle burnt out cuz the bond between the family was broken.

Y'all understand

Isabela: I woke up with messy hair!
Abuela: It's alright
Luisa: Oops, dropped a vase
Abuela: That's fine
Camilo: I used my gift to get away with theft
Abuela: Okay
Mirabel: He-
Abuela: You're a disappointment

Okay so 12:00. I'm gay and I completely agree with the criticism of the Encanto LGBT headcannon. I didn't see anything queer in the movie and I didn't think of it for the sake of relating to the story or characters. I LOVE the characters as designed. Luisa is one of my favorites because I related to that feeling of having to shoulder EVERYTHING and I love how feminine she is too. There is nothing manly about her to me. And I never would have thought Donkey Unicorns could be so awesome.
Bruno. He's a sensitive man who absolutely fears hurting others. This makes him no less of a man. He's got his reasons for not being married. That doesn't make him lgbt.
Mirabel. She didn't know it at first but she is a leader. She's also kind and loving and will never ever give up on anyone. While these are traits I love to see in my fellow lgbt characters I just don't think that applies to her.
Isabella. Nobody, NOBODY is happy with the prospect of being coerced into an unwanted marriage, and she was so brave to be willing to do that to make her family happy. But when Mirabel helped her find out what else she could do, that's when Isa found joy in connecting with her inner artist. (I think she takes after Pedro in that sense) She will find love. It will be true and it will be in her own time. She will be an amazing mom.
All the kids are going to be great parents.
Let's talk about the Dads.
Felix. No matter what shape Camilo takes he can't trick his dad. "Stop pretending to be Delores to get seconds!"
He knows his children so well and is absolute in his care and support for Pepa's emotional wellbeing and growth.
On her wedding she became scared and accidentally summoned hurricane conditions. How does Felix remember it? "What a Joyous day, but anyway..."
That's the kind of straight family man representation I like to see.
Agusta. He stands up to his terrifying mother in law for the sake of his daughter and always seems to know what to say to support Mirabel and her sisters. He is romantic with Julieta and strong enough to brave bees (to which he's allergic) to do his part for his family.
These dads may not have magic but they're still Super. Wonderful examples that boys and men of any sexuality can look up to and feel well represented.

This was a story about family, acceptance, culture, tradition, and overcoming the hurt we feel to find the courage and strength to forgive and love.
This story doesn't have lgbt elements, but the message is something we ALL can embrace to help our own candles burn brighter together.

I’m glad they didn’t make Luisa an “ugly” looking character just because she’s muscular. Usually with shows they portray women with physical strength and manly and lacking femininity. I’m glad they got rid of that and gave us a charming character many can relate to.

The first Tiktok is basically me if I were Delores; I think I would be less worried about Bruno being in the house then the plot of the telenovelas. Also I would love for the telenovelas being turned into a short movie or clip show series (I don’t know which) with different clips that would be apart of the telenovelas. It would be called “la Novela de Ratas”, which means “ the novel of rats” in Spanish, going with the mass Colombian and Spanish inspiration from Encanto. If anyone than relate to how I would act if I was Delores and/or would like the idea for my Encanto spin-off, please like! What would be exceptionally kind!

For Mirabel, my little sister (once seeing the clip of the door vanishing) gasped and said “she’s the next Abuela!” And WHY WASNT THAT ANYONE ELSES IDEA!?! Abuela doesn’t have a power, but is the head of the house hold, so Mirabel, having no power makes sense to be the next Abuela!

Glad that absolutely none of the people on tiktok were in Mirabel's or any other Madrigal's situation, making a fuss out of everything saying they would've blown out the candle or burn down the house. None of the violence or ignorance was needed because clearly, communication and understanding were the things that lacked in the family. It was evidently stated in the beginning of the movie that the candle couldn't be put out, and Casita is a magical house with a mind of it's own, if you were to attempt to burn the house down it would've put itself out and put you in trouble after. Also abuela haters.. the woman was stuck in the first stage of grief for over 50+ years slowly getting better during the events of the movie, she whitenessed the death of her husband, received a magical home, became a queen of some sort to her town while having magical five year olds running around the house, one of which who controlled the weather with her emotions and having to keep her calm most of the time, then her granddaughter didn't get a gift as was expected and begged her son to look into the future only for him to be missing the next day, then lived in stress for the next ten years thinking the miracle given by her long dead husband was in danger.. and then you hate her because you listed to pre-outcasts of the family and went with it..?

Imagine Mirabel carrying her Eevee in the bag she carries with her. If I could draw, I would 100% draw that!

And when Dolores says she hears the rats talking in the walls, it could've just been Bruno talking to himself

The one thing that doesn't hit with me with saying that reading Mirabel as nonbinary is harmful because it's masculinizing women of color is that nonbinary isn't the in between of man and woman, it's unique to the person and is it's own identity. It is definitely still harmful because that's how people will see it and like she said in the video not everything has to be queer, especially in a movie about a cultural struggle, but the way she described being afab nonbinary as masculinization is also not a vibe.

2:38 the fact that Bruno and Sid are voiced by the same guy makes this so much funnier 😂
