Toronto has been booming for years now. The skyline from when I was a kid to now is astonishing.

Proud to see my city on Number 3 spot. Most fascinating skyscraper projects in Mumbai must be these: 1) BDD Chawl Redevelopment Project: Awarded to Tata Capacite JV. Includes construction of 10 65-floor skyscrapers and 87 22-floors buildings for existing residents. 2) Bhendi Bazaar Redevelopment Project: 8 skyscrapers along with malls transforming Busy market areas in Old Mumbai.

Entire Mumbai is under construction.... Many skyscraper's, costal roads projects, new bullet train's, new railways stations, Metro rail's expansion, Sivaji statue ( big library & museum), express ways, industrial corridor's, etc... By 2023 Mumbai will completely Change.... great work..

Skyscrapers and economic success are not always correlated. Although there are a lot of skyscrapers being built in China, many, if not most, of them are being built just to boost GDP numbers artificially. They do not generate any profit and many of them are completely empty or only partly inhabited. All they do is generate more debt into an already enormous debt bomb. The same thing can be seen in other places too, particularly in places like Dubai.

Also, many countries just don't have skyscrapers because they would be useless (or because of ridiculous height restrictions), but that doesn't make them any less economically successful. Many European countries are deliberately not building skyscrapers, but I think Germany is more successful that Venezuela, despite the fact that Venezuela has more tall buildings.

And don't get me wrong, I love skyscrapers. I hate the stupid height restrictions in Europe and I think skyscrapers are not only good looking, but also (mostly) economically beneficial. But I just wanted to remind you of the fact that many of the skyscrapers you see in China or Dubai, even though they are cool, are still only built for a big fat economic lie.

Wow. China is really in it's own league. Don't know when will we get another Mumbai in India. Bangalore is also rising but many thinks that it's already congested. Though, Mumbai is going through an instractural reform and in about 5-10 years, Mumbai would look much bigger and better with Metros, Bullet Trains, New Roads, Underground tunnels for transports, New flyovers, Lots of skyscrapers, Redevelopment of all the slums, etc.

Love that you are bringing attention to Melbourne, we are a true underdog that few would expect yet we continue to impress.

Being a retired ironworker of 32 years, I can't imagine climbing to the top of some of these superstructures. Man lifts only start being built after 20 or 30 floors, but until then it's all up to you to get to the top.

As of 2021, Mumbai has over 160 skyscrapers under construction almost twice the 2nd position that's Shenzhen with 81, and Dubai at 3rd place. The world we are coming just the way China did and you ignored and today India has seen 2x faster growth than China had 1-2 decades ago. BBC showed them slums but it came out something else and now the same thing is happening over here.
