Why Tell Shepherds About the Birth of Christ?

Jeremy discovers sheep and their shepherd in the hills of Israel and discusses what it would have been like when angels visited the shepherds to announce the birth of Christ.

Thank you, very good to see the area. Maybe the shepherds were waiting and praying for the Savior to come, so the angels appeared to them with the good news of Jesus' birth.

Shepherds were considered so unworthy and unsavory that in Jesus’s time they were not allowed to testify in a court of law even if they were eyewitnesses. Interesting then that God chose the shepherds to announce to the world that the Savior was born . God’s ways aren’t man’s ways.

I would think that sheep do not graze in the dark at night in December. Wolves etc would be around. Was this the weather in December. Other videos show snow. Would Shepard leave their flock un-watched to go visit. I think they can put thorn bushes to encircle flocks. Yes sheep are cute but very dumb.

You did not say why the angels told them! The field was that field where the lambs for sacrifice in the temple were kept. The shepherds were those for the sacrificial lambs. The Angel told them the true lamb of God has arrived. Come on, are you all studying, or travelling on vacation!
