Can Rishi Sunak stop Nigel Farage taking over Tory Party?

Rishi Sunak has unveiled his manifesto, promising billions in tax cuts and lower immigration - but after his D-Day disaster and Nigel Farage back in the game, is it enough to shift the dial in the election or even enough to stop the right-wing of his own party turning on him before polling day?

And with Reform creeping up in the polls, can Farage’s party really overtake the Tories to become the opposition? And what would happen then?

Joining Krishnan Guru-Murthy to discuss this on this episode of The Political Fourcast are Conservative peer Jo Johnson, who helped write the winning Tory manifesto in 2015, Harriet Harman, former Labour Leader and Deputy Leader, and Reform UK’s Deputy Leader David Bull.

Produced by Silvia Maresca, Calum Fraser, Rob Thomson, Nick Jackson.

Britain needs change. I'll be voting Reform after voting Tory for 45 years. The Reds and blues aren't fit to govern and the country is now a mess!

Kinda wish more political discussions were like this. Just three political figures having a chat about the issues properly.

Foreign students should not be able to settle or bring their families into the country to use the services free of charge.

Even factoring in Rishi's ridiculous tax cut promises, the tax burden overall will still rise over the course of the parliament maintaining an 80 year high.

If the tories promised to cut taxes in half I still wouldn’t vote for them. Ex Tory voter here. How have they costed all this?So much for the original NI hike to help pay for social care. Social care and health services in this country are shocking. I suffer with pain every day - apparently not enough to be considered disabled and get any help to allow me to work reduced hours but enough to impact my every day life to a huge degree. Why? Because I’ve waited so long for NHS to offer actual help that I have deteriorated hugely. I was never this bad. No I’ll take longer to fix. I literally cry some days.

Probably the most professional, intellectual conversation I've seen from a group of politicians.
