And the first world championship line of decent in the gloved era
Is the UNIVERSALLY ACCLAIMED NO1.
Hence why the UNIVERAL is called the lineal world.

Originally pre sanctioning, the fans, press the people as a consensus decided who the top 2 boxers were in a class to fight for a vacant UNIVERSAL championship.

Because the peoples consensus have always decided who the Universally acclaimed NO1 is and have done for the last 140 years.

If a lineal #WORLD championship is vacant in a class.
A qualified publication press 1 v 2 must fight to crown a new lineal champion.

Now a qualified consensus no1 + no2 may not even hold a world belt.

For example when Mayweather retired in 2015
The lineal world championship became vacant at 147lb.

Manny Pacquiao moved to a press consensus NO1
Bradley moved to a NO2.

Hence why Pacquiao v Bradley 3 in 2016 qualified for the vacant lineal world championship at 147lb a press universal 1 v 2 box.

The only efficient way is to trace the title and that would be the WBA title. Otherwise explain how it was reestablished and not broken again when Rocky Marciano retired. Better to trace the titles.
