While yes the "OC" performance of the 12400f is impressive, the truly crazy thing is just how much performance the 12400f gives at stock settings while only consuming HALF the power of the 12600k!

I am very impressed with the performance of the i5 12400F Stock, power consumption and heat lower than the others with very good results.

So the takeaway is, buy the cheapest CPU in the 12th gen series, because games at 1440p or higher are GPU bound anyway, so the CPU makes very little difference. If you need multithreading for 3d modeling or pro apps, get a better cpu, but aside from that, save your money.

Je suis heureux d'avoir opter pour le 12400f l année dernière. Mon seul regret c'est d'avoir choisi une carte mère qui ne gère pas l overclocking faute de moyen ce qui aurait pu me prolonger un peu la durée de vie de ma config actuel. Mais j'en suis quand même très content c est un excellent processeur pour le gaming 👍

Love my 5000er AMD but yeah these 12000er Intel are great 2. You will get a great CPU in both cases, nothing wrong here

12600k would fare somewhat better with e-cores off. Better tasking and faster cache in that case

You can do non f overclocking on some b660 ddr5 mobos, some manufacturers are trying to bring this option on b660 ddr4 too

The i5 12f is one of the best budget cpus it can hand light editing and multitasking but still is really good

Everyone must understand that you need a DDR5 Z690 motherboard to overclock the 12400F. (You cannot do it on a DDR4 motherboard.) You'll also need to pay extra for DDR5. It's actually cheaper just to buy the 12600K and DDR4.

12400F 180$ best cpu value ever, especially in windows 11 and with better ddr5 ram that will be avaible in the next few years hopefully at a similar price to ddr4 nowdays. The fact that its overclockable and can reach the power of the 12600K is insane and it even has a not so bad cpu stock cooler for those who dont want to
