2020 Bahrain Grand Prix Review

Показать описание
Another race in 2020 and another victory for Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton. However, the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix will be remembered for Romain Grosjean surviving a horrific crash that saw his Haas burst into flames.
The burning Haas was trapped sideways in the barrier, with nearly 30 seconds passing before Grosjean climbed clear as medical crews rushed to help. A horrific accident that no doubt proved how dangerous F1/Motorsport can be and also put life into perspective.
It was a strong showing from Red Bull with Max Verstappen finishing second and Alexander Albon coming home in third in what could be a Red Bull career saving result for the Thai driver.
Albon benefited from Racing Point's Sergio Perez who retired from the race in the closing stages due to a engine failure. Perez was comfortably running third throughout the race until his failure.
There was another scary moment in the race as Lance Stroll's Racing Point was pitched into a roll by Daniil Kvyat and landed upside down - but the driver was unhurt.
A double DNF for Racing Point and one team who took advantage were McLaren with Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz finishing fourth and fifth. McLaren now have a healthy lead over Racing Point in the battle for third in the Constructors.
