Never take buses? I think that's bad advice. I take the bus from via di porto Cavalleggeri next to the Vatican every day when I'm in Rome. How do you think Romans get to work? Of course, you should take precautions against pickpockets (as you would in any big city), but I would never want the stress of staying in the typical tourist neighborhoods.

Being Italian: 1) You will NEVER, mean NEVER pay 1 € for half a liter of water in a supermarket. You have found a place that was a tourist trap. 2) Same for 8 € for a coffee drink with ice. Maybe in Piazza San Marco in Venice, or in Portofino, or in some fancy (but FANCY and POSH!) place. 3) Your video outfit suits You well, and You look very pretty, but definitely You look as a tourist with it. 4) You will not be killed for any comment about soccer. Questa fobia del cappuccino non la capisco. In Italia in qualsiasi bar entri puoi chiedere un cappuccino a qualsiasi ora. Lo stesso vale per l'abbigliamento ognuno si veste come vuole, poi i gusti sono differenti ma non c'è uno standard. Per fortuna abbiamo tante libertà e anche a tavola, per noi è normale utilizzare le posate ma se qualcuno non è capace non è un problema. 😀😀
