I've given one (delonix Regia) to my nephew. He's really into it and he's only 7. By the time he's 18, he'll have a collection to rival masters if he keeps this up. BTW, if you live in even a semi-tropical region, delonix Regia is easy to grow by seed and VERY rewarding in the spring.

Awesome! It's super satisfying growing bonsai from seed. I've done a large portion of my collection from seed, going on 5/6 years now.

I'm looking to grow old with my trees and leave them behind for my kids.

My only regret is that I did not wire or introduce a funky bend into my trees when they were young and some are quite straight (formal upright / informal upright). I'm looking to grow more so I'll introduce more bends into those.
