I have the original LX100 and love it. I wish Panasonic would add a flip screen, weather sealing and a mic input. They wouldn’t be able to make them fast enough. Oh well I think I am going to stick with my old one.

I wish more lenses had Aperture control.

Seems like a great travel camera but expensive

I bought the original one 4 years ago and it is still my favorite camera the only major downside that still has not be corrected (I checked some amazon reviews) is that even if you take care of your gear the lens will suck some dust inside. It got cleaned once under warranty and then it happened again. Many users had this problem and it really sucks.

I have the original LX100 bought for travel and holidays and it's been so good in producing some very high quality images but recently dust on the sesor has been an issue and on researching this online it seems this is common place which is why I am disapointed this problem has not been addressed in the Mark 2 version with better sealing
Great review though guys you certainly are making this channel your own looking forward to more this year

I got it a while ago, as a second camera next to my A7riii. I was worried I would be disappointed sensor wise. But I grabbed it because I had good experience with the G85 and it looked and felt very good in the hand. While its not the same as a full-frame sensor, it is pretty spectacular once you get used to it. Its now my carry with me camera all the time, great for street, Instagram, and great for macro. Its a real the best camera is the one with you sort of thing.

I have the original LX100 and it's my travel camera that I've taken everywhere. I never feel like I've missed my Full Frame DSLR when using it. A few new features of the Mark II is nice but not worth the upgrade for me.

Haven't used the original LX100 nor this one, but i have to say the images look REALLY nice! Really good for such small pocket camera.

This MK II has some improvements, but not a whole lot for the original users. Makes me think of another similar Panasonic updates, like the 20mm f1.7 II, etc. Very minor updates sometimes.

I have the original one and apart from the dust on sensor problem like many people seem to have, it has been a very nice camera to use. I would have been very glad to upgrade if the new model had a 5 axis IS, articulated screen, dust proofing..

I came close to buying the original LX100 but bought the even smaller GM5.
Love that camera. Wish they would make an update.

I honestly felt that this nine minute long video wasn't much of a review, but more of a regurgitation of this camera's spec sheet. The Panasonic LX100 II was probably the most boring update of 2018 and the comment sections are full of disappointed reactions. Four years is a long time and it's still the same body, same lens, fixed screen, video recording remains an afterthought, now with a bigger crop factor you only see AFTER you press record (?) and there's no mic jack, even though the body is definitely big enough. I would rather grab a used original for 1/3 of the price and practically get the same camera.

I own 3 Nikon DSLR bodies, 9 lenses and a P7800 (which I recently said goodbye to). 3 years ago I was intrigued with the LX100 and bought one. Glad I did. For a street camera it excels outdoors, quick autofocus and one handed operation is easy with a wrist strap. For low light situations I still go to my D750, but the LX suits my purpose. Image quality outdoors is outstanding with the 4/3 processor and leica glass. I won't go into great detail but for less than the price of most lenses, it's well worth it. I pretty much stayed away from the mirrorless war. That being said, as good as the LX100 is, I can only begin to imagine what the S1r will be like when it's released later this year.

It's equivalent to a full frame 24-75/3.4-5.6. Pretty good.

I liked the review, but I wish the camera was more feature-rich. They did the same thing they did with the GX9. FWIW, though, I've printed road-side advertising with pictures taken with my GX85, so there's definitely enough resolution there for large applications. Don't let the hype fool you. Just a few years ago, 16MPX was only available to the highest tier of pro DSLRs.

Sure looks like my GX85 -- same buttons, it looks like. But the GX85 has flip up LCD and interchangeable lens. I find it still convenient to carry. Dave sounds more Canadian, eh, in this video. Maybe the ice skates bring it out.

I think you need to plan your reviews better. Chris would have started with key features, updates, talked about downsides / limitations, then dove into the tech.
I would have mentioned the manual vs easy access to the I auto mode very first thing as this is a family compact / one parent knows what they are doing in manual camera.

Enjoyed the review and location. Good information well presented. A bit nostalgic for me...many years ago when I lived in Calgary I broke my ankle skating at the Bowness Park Lagoon. Thank you.
