Knott's Berry Farm visitors stuck on ride for hours

More than 20 passengers were suspended in midair for hours after the Sol Spin ride at Knott's Berry Farm in California malfunctioned on Monday. Two female guests were transported to a hospital “out of an abundance of caution,” a park spokesperson said.

& That is exactly why I don't do rides anymore... how scary. I used to love the swings as a kid & it felt like you were flying freely over the carnival until I heard someone's swing cut loose one day on the news somewhere. Can you imagine... you're taking in the view feeling so free & then the swing breaks off, sending you launching off to your death.

Two similar incidents happened with the Wind-seeker (Ride that this one replaced). And they eventually shut The Wind-seeker ride down permanently down because of it. These rides aren’t up to the task and they should seriously reconsider building them.

This music perfectly captures the semi-hallucinogenic mood that arises when you're stuck in mid-air on an amusement park ride for hours on end, and your legs have gone to sleep, and you have the crazy electric shocks when you try to move, and you have to pee really REALLY bad, and you're deciding whether or not to pee your pants. To hold it offers dignity at the cost of painful torture, while to let it flow offers blessed relief at the cost of discomfort and humiliation.

Did anyone notice that there are only several firemen there. They basically sent the mechanics with a hammer and a wrench to fiddle around until it lowered the ride to the ground.

This “Mondial Top Scan” ride has had many similar problems in other parks over the years. It should be removed from all locations until it is redesigned or re-engineered.

What is going on with this video? There is no video of the ride-arm moving. There is even a scene where the guy is moving the ratchet, but the ride-arm does not move AT ALL. Its up in the air, then half way, then its on the ground. All movement has been clipped out or something
