FILM DESCRIPTION:
Richard Linklater's Boyhood is a coming-of-age drama that the director spent twelve years making. He cast a young boy, Ellar Coltrane, and shot the film a few days at a time for over a decade so that he could capture how his leading actor, and the rest of his cast, aged. The film's story simply follows a boy named Mason (Coltrane) as he progresses from age 6 to 18 and deals with the typical travails of childhood like his parents' divorce, bad stepparents, falling in love, finding his artistic voice, and fighting with his bratty older sister. Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette co-star as Mason's parents.

The most important scene in the movie. It summarize the whole movie.
I won't forget watching it for the first time. I'm watching the movie, enjoying it, appreciating the effort but I didn't get the point. And then you get this scene, just like a big slap in the face, and you get it, they captured life in this movie and what life is all about, geting yourself into situations and grow and develop from them into the next chapter of your life, and sometimes we just need to stop and appreciate every moment, because they are precious, the bad ones, the good ones, they are all important and they'll never get back and they'll eventually will pass so enjoy the ride and make the best out of it. This is the perfect movie. A true masterpiece and the best of all time from my point of view.

I love the way they glance at each other pays homage to the scene of Jesse and Celine in the record both in Before Sunrise. It’s a lovely full circle of Linklater’s work in this style.

The girls name is Nicole. Quite alot earlier in the film, when Mason got his hair shaved, he gets passed a not from a brunette saying his hair is 'kewl'. That girl is also called Nicole. It's not confirmed but they could be the same person...

The silence of these two in this scene, you could almost tell they had feelings for each other, but didn't know what to say. I'm sure if there's ever a sequel, they could make a storyline where Mason and Nicole dated in college, got married and had kids, with Mason capturing moments through his passion for photography.
