Arthritis at the joint at the base of the thumb, or the carpalmetacarpal (CMC) joint is very common. When osteoarthritis occurs at this joint, the cartilage begins to wear down creating painful bone on bone friction. Thumb pain can be rough on guitar players who play with a pick. There are lots of videos about dealing with the joint at the base of the thumb, but what about the other joint? It is hard to restrain one's picking style after a lifetime of playing hard. Old dogs, new tricks.

I had this problem for 4 years now. I lived in the Philippines south and we don't have orthopedic hand surgeons. That is my problem here. I wish there is a medicine to cure or treat the pain that causes this problem. I am using the thumb and fingers exercise that helps me a bit.

I'm on disability for a severe chronic venous insufficiency after 2019 it just got the best of me in Arkansas you have to make three times the amount of money to even rent an apartment so I just reached out and got a part-time job I hadn't worked in 5 years now all the stuff that was going on with my legs is coming all back again I'm getting rash all around and I've looked at the stages of chronic venous insufficiency. And I was told a couple years ago by my primary doctor that I had carpal tunnel what I'm doing part-time involves me using my right hand constantly this video is just got me in a whirlwind because that's all I do with my hand is I put clothes on hangers and hang up clothes on hangers and hang on my not primary doctor just retired about 6 months ago does anyone know what type of gas or I would go to to see for my thumb and my hand is it is a severe pain especially when I'm having to use it

I have similar pain constantly. Please help what kind of treatment you look for. I asked the doctor, but they don't seem to suggest anything further than braces and ibuprofen.

I'm 20 I have a significant amount of pain in my thumb as well the palm that's on the side of the thumb it feels like its in my bone but also in my tendons. it will hurt for days or weeks and then just disappear like I never had a problem with my hand and then a few weeks go by sometimes a month or two and then boom its back its a cycle that's been going on for a few years now. so not sure exactly what this means?

i have had a stiff thumb and lots of pain for over a month and it's ruining my life, i never knew how much i needed my thumb to do things and if i even try to bend it it will dislocate and i have to bend it back in place. No idea how this happened but i do a lot of driving and i tend to grip the steering wheel tight, causing numbness in my hands, maybe it's related?

I think I have it also. My thumb aches like crazy. Can't pick up laundry basket by the handles. Have to put my hands underneath and cradle the basket. Believe it or not, this happened from holding and working on the phone while in bed. For years nothing happened but lately I had to cup the phone, wires and all, all in 1 hand because I didn't want the wires bending and cause a short. That's like hyper extending the thumb in one position for an hour or two. Aches like crazy 😢

Wow, This is exactly what I am experiencing but it only happened after a full time job and a head on 100 mph head on crash ... can the crash cause a sprain or something in the joint and have inflammation that isn't really one of the arthritis?

Just found out I have this… wearing a thumb brace. Dr won’t give meds or a cortisone injection!!!😡 very painful

I have that brace ==> 00:42 I also got the steroid injection. That was the worse pain I've ever had in my life and I've had all my joints replaced and had children. Horrible. I had a reaction to the shot on the way home and made the pain at level 12 shoot me now. IT took awhile for it to settle down and now a year later the shot has worn off. I'm terrified of getting the shot again. That is something they should put you under for.

Two nearly useless thumbs, doctors that just fob it off as"" your been a big cry baby, trying to hold tools without using the thums is difficult, gave up on doctors thay just throw pills at it that dont work, i keep forgetting that only people dripping in gold and money get the best treatment, must remember to work slower, you know safety first 😑🧐🤔
