How to Record & Mix Vocals in FL Studio (99% STOCK PLUGINS!)

In this tutorial Karra and Reid Stefan show you how to record and mix vocals in FL Studio using Karra’s Vocal Template available here!

Karra shows you her workflow on how she sets up her session to record a lead, doubles, harmonies, and adlibs. She then shows you how to comp your best lead together and clean up your vocals in the editing process. Reid then shows you how to mix the vocal to perfection using all stock plugins, UAD autotune, and Little Alter Boy. He shows you tricks on how to automate your vocal, so that it enhances your vocal performances in all the right places!

Quick tip: At 17:55, instead of fiddling with automation clips everytime, you can right click on the time bar, drag and select the portion of the beat where you want the automation to come in, now it's highlighted in Red, so when you create automation clip, it will only appear at that portion you highlighted :D

Great tutorial! I wish I was as organized as you in my sessions but alas :)
Also if anyone is having trouble with latency issues, go into your FL audio settings and reduce your buffer size while recording > increase it when mixing!
More plugins can cause more latency, especially if you have a powerful autotune/digital compressor.

Awesome vid! Couple of quick tips for anyone trying to speed it up a little,
when you want to cut away the edges using the 'C' tool, right click and drag instead of left click and it automatically deletes the excess clip.
To rename mixer channels quicker press the scroll wheel whilst you hover the mouse over the track to pull up the rename faster.
You can also save the mixer channel templates/presets so it's quick to load. When you make automation clips, right click and drag your cursor along the top bar of the playlist for the section of the playlist that you want the automation on, so that it’s highlighted red, then when you make the automation clip it will be the right size to fit your selection.
Great content Karra and Reid, no idea how you learn and master it all so quickly. I hope FL find ways to speed up the vocal process in the future so it's more efficient and less lethargic coz it let's FL down a bit despite being really awesome all round for production.
