1/500 Americans died “with” Covid on their death certificate… the over whelming majority were elderly and infirm, and may well have passed by now of other causes.

Also they are still counting deaths from 2020. What fraction of people are dead as a result of heart disease or cancer in the same time period?

I worked as a paediatric specialist in the US in the 90s. With the benefit of hindsight, I am so pleased I resisted the financial pressures put on me to remain. My children have thus been able to have a fully rounded education, as scientists and service-driven Christians, and I work where doctors and researchers remain highly trusted.
