Anyone who has been in a relationship with a narcissistic abuser recognizes the patterns seen here: control, gaslighting, word salad, projection, flipping responsibility to the other person, lack of willingness to compromise or make amends. Dude is at the least a psychological abuser. Good for her for leaving. I hope she can get appropriate therapy to help her heal.

I have been in a relationship similar to this. He controlled everything. I was in fear of him. Some days I couldn't even breathe correctly in his eyes. Thankfully I finally got the courage to leave and never look back. I hide in a DV shelter for a while got a RO. I also received counseling to help me heal and see a life beyond. Now years later I'm happy and retired from a fruitful and rewarding nursing career. Ladies and gentlemen you don't have to stay in an abusive relationship. 🙏

The fact that Steven who's a millionaire only had one family car speaks volumes to me. It's not like he couldn't afford another one obviously. He only had one car to control his wife and where she goes imo.

The video of him reminds me so much of my father talking to my mother and my siblings and I. Had this video leaked even a year ago, I would’ve most likely assumed there was nothing wrong with his nagging at her for tedious tasks and “respect”. The damage of a narcissist is so scary and can greatly warp and convince you their behavior is completely normal, especially if you’re born into it. I’m glad she was able to get away from him despite the heartbreaking circumstances. :(

I noticed Crowder said, "I drew a boundary at abuse and cruelty, " as if he were telling her that she was not to say those words to him. He even says to her "Watch it." I know, because my narcissistic bf does the same exact thing to me. He threatens me and the kids into never saying anything about his abusive behavior. His mother actually has similar strategies to avoid criticism. They will deflect and punish you until you just let their bad behavior happen and never criticize it. They will outlaw words that make it impossible to speak about what they are doing to you.

😡I left a marriage like this a couple years ago. One car and all. Ex worked out of town for INDEFINITE amounts of time leaving me with 2 young kids for up to 3 months at a time. When he came home and I had the car, my freedom was grocery shopping. If I took "too long" he called to passive aggressively pressure me to hurry up and come home. When I got home I would find he hadn't bathed the kids, fed them, and had thrown their dirty diapers out on the lawn. He was the man of the house dominate and all powerful... too manly to even feed his kids a proper dinner while I was away, and I... just a lowly woman - only fit to stay in the house and cook and clean . I don't miss those days.

He probably only has one car so he can control his wife's ability to leave. Just like how abusers like to control their spouse's money, possibly allowing them a fraction of their paycheck as an "allowance" if they behave in the approved ways. Hopefully, lots of skilled divorce lawyers are reaching out to her to do pro bono work on her behalf.

Reminds me of my dad. He'd come home after multiple night shifts at work and pick fights with my mom over petty things. He'd be pretty damn mean about it. Left my mom confused and exhausted, always tip toeing around him to avoid setting him off. He treated me this way too.

I don't know what happened here, I can't possibly know all of the context. But I'd argue that there's no circumstance in which you should treat your very pregnant wife that way. Just swallow your pride and let it slide. The heated arguments can wait. She's pregnant with your kids, that's a pretty big burden to carry, and adding stress to her life is no good for her or the kids.

Not only that. When he announced the divorce on his show, he made a comment that really had me feeling suspicious. Regarding his wife, he said he “chose wrong”. Like wtf is that supposed to mean??

I think it’s very sad that he acted this way while she’s literally carrying his child. His focus on menial tasks instead of her well-being shows the condition of his mental and emotional state.
