Scientists Think the Universe Is Alive - And It's Terrifying!

But the thing is that our brain is made up of a complex network of nearly 100 billion neurons that form 100 trillion neural connections. These neurons are organized into networks of nodes, filaments, and clusters that shape your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. But these neurons make up less than 25 percent the mass of your brain, leaving the remaining 75 percent as water.

In a bizarre coincidence, the observable universe also contains an estimated 100 billion galaxies. The teetering balance between the pull of gravity and the accelerated expansion of the universe forms a cosmic web of string-like filaments composed of ordinary and dark matter.

I don't understand why the concept of a living universe, should be terrifying? I've always thought of it that way, never finding terror in my perception. As Carl Sagan said, "We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself", The Universe is, and always has been alive.

Nothing to be afraid of, it’s far more comforting than it is scary.

as above so below, we are to the universe what bacteria or a virus is to the human body

I remember a long time ago our geography teacher told us: all the planets and stars of our galaxy and neighboring galaxies could all just be small particles under someone's finger nail. Talking about where the macro and micro universes meet.

Yes, it must be terrifying for the Universe to know that Humans exist!

We are all the universe experiencing itself from a human perspective. I’m not afraid of the universe, I would be afraid if I couldn’t.

The double slit proton experiment did it for me. Waves of potential until observed, then becomes particle. Einstein called it spooky. I call it wonderfully amazing !

Mystics have known this forever and are not afraid.

WTF!! Ever since I was a kid I wondered if all objects have a conscience, I've always felt sorry for abandoned buildings

They have theorized that in the quantum realm that matter has intelligence. So be comforted in the fact, that we are all connected! 😊

Of course the universe is alive. It does things on its own and holds many different kinds of living creatures we haven't even imagined yet

When I was in school, that was like 30 years ago, I was taught about atoms and molecules and I was also reading a space science book at the same time, which made me connect the two that, the entire universe of ours is atoms and molecule (that is the planets and stars) of something bigger, we are just something on one of the atom of that bigger thing.

It’s about time scientists caught up with what the mystics have been telling us for thousands of years. Personally, I call God the Universal Consciousness.

Emergent patterns are common in nature. That doesnt mean the universe is alive. Its probably even weirder than that. Something we will never comprehend.

5.15 "any communication would be extremely slow" is an incredibly short-sighted comment that presumes our human perception of time would be comparable to a thinking universe. And completely disregarding quantum entanglement 🙄

We are alive and part of the universe, therefore the universe is alive.
Don't need to be scientist to realize this simple fact.

The question is not how matter has created consciousness; the question is how consciousness created matter.

That universe form of consciousness is the all one consciousness that we are part of.

We have no understanding of consciousness, we have as much understanding of reality as a fish in a bowl.

For about 15 to 20 years, I always felt like we were living in something that is living, but much much bigger and it doesn't even know we are here or on them
