Update. I ended up buying a cheap snow foaming gun with attachment off eBay for 30 bucks. It comes with a 1/4 inch quick release included. I bought a bowdens 1/4 inch adaptor(clicks into the ryobi lance and a 1/4inch male/male adaptor to fit the bowdens adaptor so I could screw on the 1/4 inch quick release. Now my ryobi has a quick release adaptor on it I also bought 1/4 inch pressure washer tips so I can quickly change the spray angles over like the kartcher pressure washers. The snow foam gun blankets the car in thick thick foam using half the water and detergent I would using the onboard detergent tank. I highly recommend getting a snow foam gun/cannon if you want something that will clean your car thoroughly.

For everyone saying soap dispenser doesn't work there two deals one for water pressure (+/-) which is on the middle end of the nozzle hold rod when twisting left to right and one is fan stream same action. Cheers!!

Issue is on high pressure it also dispenses soap so its best to just ditch it and get a snow foaming attachment

I put 30-50ml of a wash and wax pressure washer/foaming gun compatible detergent with about a litre of hot water to break down and mix the detergent better. It may not be the consistency of a snow foam cannon but it pumps out a lot of suds and foam enough to totally cover and lubricate the car

I have the RYOBI 2200 and the foam never comes out, no matter what pressure is used. Tried every setting, foam feed pushed in. Nothing.

So please tell me why is this information *not* included in the _Original Instructions Pressure Washer_ colouring in booklet for the Ryobi RPW140SC? All pictures and *no* words? This pressure washer is taking severe libities with the use of the word _pressure._ It removed *ZERO* dirt from my car when I tried to wash it after filling the soap dispenser. It would also be nice to know why the handle used to try and drag the device around is so blasted low. I am only 175cm and it is painful for me when trying to move it around because I am stooped so far over and the wheels keep making contact with the heels of my boots. Even people of a much shorter stature would be too tall for the low height of then handle of this miniature chassis.

From brand new I have had to buy and replace all the O-rings because *every* single fitting leaked, some even had more pressure than the wand. Ryobi used to be a name that meant quality, what happened? 🤷‍♂ I used to be a Ryobi zealot but not any more. I wish this pile of junk was still under warranty.
(Had to post here due to only one video for my model but all it showed was a Vietnamese guy washing his step-through scooter. Ryobi has ZERO information about this model)

I was misinformed into thinking that low pressure meant not using the pump to spray the detergent. You showed so clearly that low pressure meant using the low pressure tip or by using the low pressure setting on a variable nozzle. But---you do use the pump. Thanks

Thank you, I couldn’t figure out why my soap wasn’t dispensing.

How do I calculate the the soap dilution? The model I have say automatic 20:1 dilution ratio. Does that mean I need to mix the soap to 20:1 before pouring it into the soap reservoir or that if I put soap in the reservoir it will be diluted to that ratio automatically?

Sorry if this is a silly question, but does the soap only dispense when you have a low pressure tip on/selected? And it just isn't able to dispense once there is a high pressure tip?
So even if there's still soap in the tank, as long as you have a high pressure tip, you won't have more soap come out?
What if you want to use the turbo tip, which I think is low pressure, but without using the soap however there is still soap in the tank? Should you try to only put in a little soap at a time?
Thanks!

You don’t tell us how to add the detergent. Do you put the detergent in full strength or mix it?

Invest in a foam cannon instead and you'll never go back to putting soap in that pressure washer tank.

How do I stop it from dispensing soap in high pressure mode. Mine always seems to dispense soap anyways in high pressure mode. It’s very frustrating

Is the Ryobi 2000psi ok to use to wash a car with ceramic coating? I’m worried if the pressure will be to hard on the car.

Is there a detergent you recommend? I purchased the Ryobi electric 1600PSI washer and it says to dilute soap at a 20:1 ratio. Any particular soap I should use?
