Appreciate this video review of this versatile lens..I have a used one on my Nikon D750 and though it's a bit heavy, the images are sharp, and it's a joy to work with for outside photography! Keep up the great work... HG from Chicago

Thank you so much for showing all the sample photos and talking through them. Not too many videos on this lens out there they're all talking about the G2. Im going on a trip to hawaii soon and wanted a nice cheap zoom lens and I'm definitely picking this one 😁

As a young (fledgling) photographer I have shot many weddings, Gigs and events with this lens alone and the results are great. My links are on my bio if you want to see my work. The first few wedding shots are from this lens paired with the D600!

I got this back in 2016 with my D750 and see absolutely no reason to upgrade. This is used along with my 35mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.8g. I also have two back up cameras D600s which are fanatic for low light gig photography! I haven’t had any issues but I know if anything goes wrong, these are easily replaceable from a financial standpoint. Whereas I would be terrified if I had the new mirror less systems. I will transition to the new cameras in a few years but not right now. My result are just as good if not better than the gear heads in the industry.

Great video also!

I have both the G1 and the G2 version here at the moment. I bought the G2 version 2 weeks ago and just sold my G1 version on Ebay last night. It will leave here in a few minutes. Both lenses are wonderful on my EOS R. I the last few months, I have rented the Canon EF 24-70 f2.8 II lens, as well as the RF 28-70 f2 for comparison to the G1 version. At some apertures both of the Canons are a bit more contrasty than the G1 Tamron, but you can't see the difference when viewed at 100% or on an A4 sized print. Each one of the lenses have apertures and focal lengths at which they were the best. Plus...the two Canons don't have image stabilization. I know that the RF 24-70 f2.8 has IS, but I haven't tried it. I doubt it could be more than 2x as good as the G2 Tamron...which I can say that the G2 Tamron is better than the G1 in almost every aspect. But, it is a small improvement in image quality and a lot of improvement in build quality and overall feel as well as in weather sealing etc. Both versions, G1 and G2, are wonderful lenses.

I just got a used (like new) for $500 with no scratches. The VC is a really nice feature. I got my cat to sit still for a 1 second pic and it was perfect, hand held. Mine is EF mount (Canon).

I want to buy the 24-70 Tamron G2 and I got to have it. I heard it's great so I'm going to see if I can get a good used one

Is it the same glass? I’ve read that the G2 has 9 blades, vs the 8 in the original, and the G2 is a bit heavier. I wonder if it’s worth the upgrade!

Hello, i have a Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 Canon G1, and i have a issue when i record video. The images " jumps" sometimes and I can hear the sound of aperture even though I don't change it, and also subjects appear with some red marks around them, like I'm manually focusing(it stops the servo autofocus for 1-2 seconds) . This is what happens when the image jumps. Plus the recording sometimes stops when the images jumps. . What could be the problem? The aperture, VC or the autofocus?🤔🥺 I used this lens on 2 bodys: Canon M50-my camera, and Canon Rp-from one friend.

You can't blame the lens to be blurry while handholding 1/10 shutters. Anything below 1/100 would mean you have to hold in your breath and time your shutters. Anything around 1/10 is definitely tripod territory
