Totally agree. I love my a7cr, my 28-200, and the 20mm. I was surprised at how much I used it on my cruise. I dont shoot a lot of wide at home and didn't want a lot of money tied up. Fantastic value and no wasted space.

Love this lens. Light, sharp, great colors, and easy to use. Fast focusing on my z7II.

Looking forward to seeing what the Viltrox 40mm is like. I prefer 35 or 40mm for general travel etc. I own the Sony 20mm 1.8 G and it's great but too wide for a lot of shots, imho.

love the video and your work. I am planning on getting the same combo with the A7CR!

I have just ordered this lens. I don’t very often shoot wide as a wildlife photographer, so got the Vitrox mainly because it is so small and light in my bag so I can carry “just in case”

I have several Fuji X bodies, the most recent being the S10. I often shoot wide, including larger family groups (if people will remain still- this does not occur all that often) and landscapes.
Some time ago, I purchased the Fuji 27 1.8 and had been very pleased with this focal length, mainly for wider type shots.
Viltrox has released and you have reviewed the excellent 27 1.2. This is clearly a different type of lens in that it is, as it needs to be to obtain that fast aperture, much larger and heavier, also, it is justifiably significantly more expensive than this optic.
How do the 2 compare, at least in the Fuji X body range?

Perfect review Dustin. I have the A7CR and found the samyang 18mm not very sharp on the 61mp sensor. Just ordered the viltrox!

It's great for street too. I have this one, the cheapo 40/2 Nikon released and recently - the new (DX) 56/1.7 Viltrox. Full set, that gives me 20, 40 and 85 and the combined size is about as big as one FF lens was 15 years ago. All that for like 600 (inflated) dollars in total. We live in the times of wonder in terms of photo gear :)

Going to New Zealand for a few weeks in October, i need a cheap wide lens thats good to travel with, this seems perfect.
Ill use it on my Sony A6000 but im looking to upgrade to full frame so at least ill have an extra lens in the bag when i make that jump!

Dustin, Thanks SO much for this excellent approach and honest comments. I really enjoyed it so much that I purchased one of these dinky lenses yesterday!!!! And I still have an adapted Vivitar Series1 19-35mm too but this just gives me a few AF options as/when required. Many Thanks 🙏🏼

Fantastic video, Dustin. The Viltrox looks like a winner. I'm just hoping that Sony adds another card slot to the A7CR in the next version. I'm still looking for that sweet spot that's smaller than the A7iii and packed with more resolution.

Dustin what lens do you think are better. This Viltrox 20mm or the Sirui 23mm f1.2?

Hello, can I use this lens for real estate photography, and is it optimized for sony a6700?

I agree on everything here but call a 20mm a classical wide lens. It's not, it's becoming classical because of vloggers, but in photography the 24mm is still the classical wide lens. I love this lens, I'm using it as a 30mm on a Sony A6000 but I'm planning to go full frame soon (that's why i bought it). Right now (30mm) I'm using it for street, it will become my landscape lens when I go full frame (too wide for strret at least for me, I prefer something closer to 28mm). Great review BTW.
