Re: Zero is one of the most interesting isekai anime that has come out in the past few years. The story revolves around Natsuki Subaru being transported from Earth to a new world and he is granted one simple power: "Return By Death". Subaru must use this newfound power to save those he cares about, such as Emilia, Rem, Ram, Petra, Otto and Garfiel and more.

Who is Satella and why did she grant subaru this power? What is the motivation behind the witch cult which have members such as Petelguese the sin archbishop of sloth? These are some of the questions I'll tackle on this channel, I hope you enjoy it and most importantly also enjoy season 1 and season 2 of Re: zero and hopefully it does well enough to warrant a third season covering arc 5 (Season 3 re: zero).

Just so you know the title is clickbait somewhat. He's talking about how the official English Translations made by Yen Press have a lot of errors and that they aren't worth your money.

Re:Zero anime was given to the White Fox studio because they cared about the story. In that case no freaking idea why Yen Press was even remotely allowed to touch the light novels...
The translation quality is so bad. It keeps changing between releases and sometimes it outright lies. They got the licence to translate the story. The disaster they are producing surely must have violated the contract. They are not translating it, they are ruining it.

Why am i still going to buy the light novels and manga? Because I live in Poland and we actually have a company translating it and caring for it. I actually noticed little mistakes sometimes but it's really not that bad at all. What's the funniest thing for me is that volume 22 in english will come out in june, while this month volume 30 will arrive to me. Poland is truly a wonderful place to live in for a re zero fan

Laughs in Polish, where we're about to have vol 30 release, and the translation actually seems to be pretty good, with only minor errors here and there.

Translation errors from an official distributor is just BRUH

"I've heard that the sin archbishop of predation is pretty strong but is he more powerful than the unseen leg?" Unfortunate situation with the translations on yen press, hopefully in the future there will be more quality releases done.

Yen Press isn't the only one causing these types of issues, as most "official" translations of Japanese to English do so too (anime featured on Crunchyroll being a huge and easy example). This is a common, yet sadly overlooked, problem

Literally learning Polish and buying the Polish version would be better than supporting YenPress.

J-Novel is miles ahead when it comes to quality (and ALSO FASTER release) and also has healthy relationship with the fandom, truly superior compared to Yen Press, sadly they're relatively new and Yen Press already picked Re:Zero just before the anime aired

I understand the frustration but this is happening all across translations in both manga and light novels becouse of poor proofreading or overworked translators who dont work for passion but for money. As a translater myself, I know how that feels and why mistakes like that would occur. In the end it comes down to how much time you spend on one project and how many proofreadrs the company you have is available. And then there are the deadlines.
Anyway, I will support re zero becouse thats the only way I can enjoy the series. The title is misleading af if you ask me. Yen press might have poor translations but to say in the title "Do NOT Support Re:Zero" is too click baity and dishonest to the series. If you are dissing the translations, go ahead and say "do NOT support YEN press". I agree with that more.
In the end, it comes down to the fact that without platforms like YEN press we woudlnt have so many light novels and manga translated to english and there is no way they would be if there wasent money involved.

That's a dangerous title. You underestimate how many people will see this title and think "I guess I won't buy that blue-ray set..." without actually hanging around to see the very last statement you made.

I love Re: Zero. I hate Yen Press. We want as many people as possible to make that same distinction.

I died inside when I first read „Patlash“ in the LNs; it amazes me how many errors there are and how awfully slow the releases are 🥃

Yen Press is that entity that would miss translate Emilio to Emilia in Gender bent if and Natsuki Subaru to Natsumi Schwartz in Re:zero Arc 12.

Mushoku tensei handled well by seven seas and it's much better since they release more often and doesn't get delayed, heck they release English covers for upcoming release, even though they suffered for some censored stuffs and classroom of the elite altered dialogue.

I'm afraid once a Subaru, Reinhard or Regulus figure drops then I won't be able to resist myself.
