Crowded House - Don't Dream It's Over

🎤 Don't Dream It's Over Lyrics:
There is freedom within, there is freedom without
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup
There's a battle ahead, many battles are lost
But you'll never see the end of the road
While you're traveling with me
Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win
Now I'm towing my car, there's a hole in the roof
My possessions are causing me suspicion but there's no proof
In the paper today tales of war and of waste
But you turn right over to the T.V. page
Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win
Now I'm walking again to the beat of a drum
And I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart
Only shadows ahead barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and release
Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win
Don't let them win (hey now, hey now, hey now, hey now)
Hey now, hey now
Don't let them win (they come, they come)
Don't let them win (hey now, hey now, hey now, hey now)

on the interlude, you can get a lot more tonal fun by playing the open versions of F&C...When you play the f, start with only the e & B barre at 1, then hammer on the G & D, and it leaves you in a nice spot for some of the little licks and passing tones Neil plays. Maybe not the LP version, but it has a very sweet sound, esp. the hammer on open F Chord. Great Lesson, i didn't know the pinky tricks in the opening. i improved something similar, but i like yours far and away better.

Thank You,

Is there an exercise I can do to strengthen my fingers so I'm able to play the bar cords? I had a bad auto accident in 2011 and don't have the strength to hold everything down so it doesn't sound flat.

This sounds just like the song. Other video instructions on how to play don't hit the mark like this one. Also, you did a very detailed job of sectioning off parts of the song so it can be played as close to the original as possible!

Pretty sure you are playing a Csus2 in the intro not C sharp yet you call it a C sharp ? Is that correct?

Just wondering why you chose to use a capo ……

OK, the playing is good, but i would be more grateful if you tried to sing along the playing.
