On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of Crowded House reaching #2 in the American charts, I’d like to post this video of us performing individually from home a version of Don’t Dream It's Over. We recorded it over a few hours between continents day before yesterday. It was for the "Music From The Front Line" benefit concert in Australia / NZ. I really like the way it sounds and the process of flying tapes back and forth was fun… pure and simple… hope you enjoy too. ~ Neil

This is one of the world's greatest popular songs, ever!! It's so complete, it lacks nothings: great musicality, rhythm, lyrics, instrumentation, emotion, recording. I never get tired of it. Many thanks to the House.

This song could be played through a tin can and a string and it would still sound fresher than any song today. 80s masterpiece.

Made it to 27 second mark before the tears started. Favorite song of all time. Crowded House and Neil Finn are so much part of my life from the 80s to present. This song was my first slow dance; it was 31 years ago and I remember like it was yesterday. Missing Paul Hester and those carefree days of youth. Thank you, Neil. Watching you daily during the epidemic has been wonderful.

This doesn't ever get old. This is strange magic, what dreams are made of, a light at the end of a tunnel, and every good thing expected. Thank you.

There have been perfect songs throughout the years. Songs that you wouldn't change one note, one instrument, one vocal or one breath. This is the song that made me realize a perfect song is possible. When someone says the 80's music was garbage, I simply start playing this song. The good stuff is always there, you just have to find it.
Thank you Crowded House for this most perfect performance of this most perfect song. Good health to you all.

Not sure how I got here "I'm a metal guy" but it was a very beautifully quiet moment of reflection, back to a perfect time in my life when I didnt know what I had nor what I didnt have. To the band, thank you.

It always amazes me how a classic song cuts through any genre of music and is completely ageless.

Bassist was having such a great time. Watching him got me in a better mood. Love this song more today than when I was younger...so great!

What’s special for me is this is my 18 year old daughter’s go to song when she’s riding with me. At least I did one thing right. Cheers from Wisconsin.

Neil's range is amazing. All these years later and he still sounds like the original recording! RIP Paul Hester

Why did it take 67 years to discover Neil and his band? As a lover of music, his genius escaped me for the first 34 years after DDIO...then YouTube brought his signature song into my life. Now I can't get enough. There are dozens of beautiful songs that keep me coming back. Thank you God for Neil Finn. I will see him on stage one day, good lord willing.

I really dig the electric guitar player's restraint for this truly elevates this performance ...he shines when appropriate and is subtle when needed

I never get tired of this version. It always makes me think of how much I loved and needed it during the pandemic.
