Most of them say MBA is non-STEM and it has only one year, but most of them still don't know some universities started offering MBA as STEM approved program. My strong message to the the people who are planning to MBA in USA. I encourage students to do an MBA in the USA if interested. Every need to know one more fact before coming i.e. Few Universities from 2017-2018 had started offering MBA programs as STEM approved. If an university issues an I-20 with Major 1 as "Information Technology 11.0103" or "Business Statistics 52.1302" and Major 2 as "Business Administration and Management, General 52.0201" then it is a STEM approved and student who pursued masters will get 3 years of OPT, instead if they offer I-20 with only major 1 i.e. "Business Administration and Management, General 52.0201"and major 2 blank which is not all considered as STEM approved. That is the logic behind it. Let me know if you need more information on this. Moreover, Students who pursue MBA as a STEM approved program, have to complete 9 or 12 stem concentrated credit hours depending upon the university's requirement to qualify for STEM OPT extension.
