Unboxing Vermihut: what comes with it and how to set it up (Part 1)

The unboxing on the Vermihut Plus 5 tray worm tower went well all of the parts were in there and nothing was broken. The washers for the spigot seemed really good to me. You just want to hand tighten the spigot. I don't think I will use more than 2 of the trays for the first 3-6 months.

I run my tray systems opposite of traditional methods. I put new trays with fresh bedding on the bottom and the top tray is where I feed and then harvest top tray and refill with bedding and put on bottom. Worms naturally move down and juices flow down and innoculate lower trays as your population grows the lower trays will be mostly composted and your harvests become more frequent. Also as I side note doing it that way I almost never have liquid in the sump area.

Awesome unboxing and setup video of the VermiHut!!! I am so excited for you!! I actually called the company to ask about that white flimsy material that was bound with rubber bands and they said it was what they offered to use before they created the white plastic worm saver...they just kept it in the parts list incase folks want to use it instead or in addition to the worm saver. I don't use it at all. I keep the nub side in on the translucent lid plastic. I figured it was to keep some separation between the coco coir mat and the air holes on the bottom of the lid, but having it out can work as a handle the way you have it!! Excellent video!! I'll have to refer people back to it for set up!!🪱🪱🪱
