I hand selected specific eggs to hatch to replace some of our older hens, but my favorite one ended up being a rooster. Maybe it's time that we learn how to provide our own food by culling this rooster. All our ancestors did it, why shouldn't we? He has lived a good life on our little homestead, but he serves no purpose here and we have thousands of wild chickens in Hawaii already.
