LSS mods to help with making it last long, just the beginning.

Will do more briskets, they just melt.

It helped to know what you want to do, that way you cal start from the beginning. Turning this 500-700 smoker to a smoker 1, 500-2, 000 smoker easily.

I got the 560 a year and a half ago. I love my grill. I will say you need to use external temp probes or do the biscuit test to find your grills sweet spot for those long smokes. I never fill the hopper full unless I doing a greater than 6 hour smoke. For all other cooks fill a charcoal starter with charcoal and dump it into your hopper. If I had to buy a grill today between the 560, 800, 1050 I would buy the 800. Enjoy your grill and keep it covered and always clean it after a long smoke to prevent a grease fire.

Can anyone recommend any mod to the manifold to block the direct heat to make the bottom rack (grill grate) less hot so the bottom grill grate can be utilized to pack more meat in the smoker?

Its still going strong. More briskets. Done two at a time using the stainless steel grates that I upgraded to. Worth it.

My understanding is that MB upgraded the hopper with a porcelain coating, which improved it’s durability.

Thanks for sharing your video! Im going to pull the trigger and pick up a 800 soon and before I do.My question is since you posted your video, do you or anyone for that matter know if Masterbuilt took into consideration and added any of these mod’s on the new ones that are out in the market today?

Where did you get that mod for the top hopper?

Getting the 800. Why did you get the mods before you even used the grill? Curious

I have an 800, and have some mods but not all. Personally, I think someone should do a few different kinds of cooks to truly know what they actually need. The dampener is nice, but I think it’s wasted money on the 800. On the 560, definitely needed, but unless you live in the plains of Oklahoma, or often smoke in the rain, you won’t see an appreciable difference. Some LSS mods that are the cheapest are the grill grate tools to lift them up. That’s why I think loading up a smoker with mods before even doing a burn in is potentially a partial waste of money

What did you use to improve the seal on top of the hopper and the fire door

I like my MB 800 but it's too bad you have to spend that much money on a grill and then spend almost as much (or more) on mods to make it truly last a while.

So you bought the 800 for $550-650, then spent another $250-350 on mods!? How reliable to do think all the electronics will be over time?

Please make a lot of videos about your grill. Recipes, update review of the grill overtime, tricks and tips. Idk. Just content . Thanks
