Ralph, I’m not really a fan of unboxing videos but I really enjoyed yours. Thanks for the grand tour of the ZED 8 and for giving me a glimpse into how you’re going to shoot with it.

Its really surprising some of my friends who have been shooting with sony cameras such as A1 also bought Nikon moment

Pre ordered the Z8 on May 10 with local shop and used NPS priority, picked it up May 25.
I decided to buy one because it is a great companion to the Z9 which I’ve owned for a year. I own a D850 and is still a great camera but prefer what I can do with the Z9. The Z8 being smaller is perfect for times when you need a smaller body but what to retain what the Z9 dose.

Have done two functions with both and it’s a joy.

I find holding a larger lens with one hand is less strain on the wrist with the Z9 as the body is in contact with your whole palm. With the Z8 you’re lacking the support of the lower part of your palm, so the torque pulling your hand to the left and forward is greater.

Despite the weight, I find holding the Z9 a lot more comfortable with larger lenses because of this.

Ralph, I cannot wait to see what you create with the Nikon Z8. I would love to see a video breaking which of the Nikon camera you would use for types of photography and or videography. Thank you for sharing. Peace and Safe Travels.

Would love a button / AF setup vid for the 8. I think I landed on my ideal approach but I’m always interested in seeing what others do.
I also feel like I’ll be in Continuous AF much more now - wow it’s amazing.

Also looking to reduce weight shooting real estate with a D750 and Tamron 15-30mm combo - about 5 lbs!! Thanks also for your other review of the 14-30mm lens. Kind of surprised to see that changing modes on the Z8 requires two hands, one holding the button and the other turning the dial? Are there customizable U1 and U2 modes like on the D750?

i was comparing the WiFi spec for Australia, it looks like Z9 only has the 2.4Ghz radio but the Z8 has 2.4 and 5 Ghz. Could you check this? Thanks.
