First of all, the expression " information " should be amended because whenever information is sought, they say that it is clarification. No one is ready to raise this issue in parliament. In many cases, information is refused on the ground that the information sought is not coming under the definition of information.

Amendments made now will not in any way prevent the disclosure of information nor do such amendments dilute the powers of the chief commissioner and commissioners. Further, there are lot of instances in the state level where the state information commission has failed to serve the purpose ie public information officers are allowed to go scot free even in the cases of deliberate refusal or in cases where information is furnished after the lapse of the stipulated period or incomplete information is furnished.

BJP sought to strengthen this law when in Opposition, now trying to weaken it. Can't the Supreme Court interfere and order to reframe this amendment?
