Scarlatti - Sonata K 208

The beautiful K208 (L238) Sonata by Domenico Scarlatti in A Major.

For those unaware, Scarlatti was a baroque composer; like an Italian Bach that spent time in Spain. His music is difficult but sounds wonderful on guitar.

It's a gorgeous piece that is challenging to play for me. I adore the unexpected key change in bar 8, the gentle start of the second half, and the deceptive cadence.

Arrangement by Simon Powis and part of his Grade 8 Classical Guitar Corner repertoire. Guitar by Trevor Gore, recorded on iPhone with Shure MV88.

You are right : it is a beautiful piece! Still some technical problems, but played very musically. I liked it.

beautiful music and lovely interpretation-thank you. I noticed you mentioned Simon Powis, and I wondered whether you have joined any of his online stuff. Is it good?
