Sepultura - Refuse/Resist (In Theory #3)

Sepultura "Refuse/Resist" is one of my all time favorite Sepultura songs. At first glance "Refuse/Resist" might just seem like run of the mill atonal angular guitar riffs that really have no root in theory. However, when taking a deeper look at what's being played in Sepultura's "Refuse/Resist" there are some music theory explanations that start to pop their heads up. Now, I will never claim to know what another musician is thinking or try to say for certain that I know why they wrote a song the way they did. All I can really do is look at the notes, analyze and reverse engineer, to tell you guys why it words and why it sounds cool. Theory is never needed to make a cool song, it's just fun to take a look at music and riffs from a theoretical perspective.
