One of the most commonly linked phrases in New Testament are the words “Grace and Peace.” In virtually all of Paul’s letters, he writes, “Grace and Peace to you from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ!” Why are they linked? Here’s the answer: because peace comes from grace!

God is the God of all Peace. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. And the Holy Spirit provides Peace. Here again we see that the Trinity is one in nature and one in essence. When you put your faith in Jesus, here comes Peace from the Father, Peace from the Son and peace from the Holy Spirit Who have made their Home in YOU the believer!

This is where the subjective ask of our peace – through all of the ups and downs of life – will find its grit and muscle – so you’re not tossed to and fro like a wave on the sea! “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” (2 Thessalonians 3:16).

Peace is not a mind game. It’s the Peace of Christ. It’s the same Peace Jesus had in the face of Pilate; when He stared in the face of His executioners; when He laid down on the cross; when He faced separation from the Father; when He faced the awful dread of bearing our sin. That Peace, dear believer, is your peace too, because the Holy Trinity has made His Home in you!

Charles Spurgeon once hear an old man pray, “O Lord, give unto thy servants that peace which the world can neither give nor take away.” Do you know why the world cannot take away your peace? It’s because the world never gave it to you! Jesus gave you His peace! And circumstances cannot destroy it! Welcome to Home Church Langley!
