I've had a high spec version of the CHR Hybrid for nearly 3-years and I love it. It is not a family SUV. It is ideal for a couple living in a big city taking occasional longer trips at motorway speed. Yes, the design is polarising but for me, it works. I get plenty of positive comments about it. I get tired of these reviewers comparing performance against supercars. I didn't buy the CHR to do 0-100 in 2.6 seconds! I fill it up once a month for less than 30 bucks. That gets me 730km at a pace that is more than sufficient. Each to their own.

I always chuckle when I remember my 195cm tall friend replaced his Corolla with C-HR because he wanted a larger car and the first time I saw him climbing behind the wheel, it was like Shaq trying off-the rack suits.

Haters will hate but it's the nicest looking suv today. At least the front

Sunroof + bigger window for rear seats would be a better upgrade for C-HR 👍🏻

Amazing car, I have the 2nd to the highest spec hybrid in white with black roof, very economic and quiet. It is smaller inside but perfect for me and my family. We are an Asian family with 1 kid and my son loves riding on it, he always feel relaxed and even sleeps a lot. The boot is large enough for me given my last car was a toyota aygo, I usually put my xiaomi e-scoot in it and a very thick hail cover due to the really bad weather lately. It gets a lot of attention from people in Italy and they say "bella" meaning beautiful when I pass even if the car is pretty common here, except the color I have. This car is more economic than my previous Toyota Aygo 1.0 in terms of petrol consumption, insurance and road tax.

This hang up about rear passenger space is getting out of hand. How many people drive adults around on a regular basis for more than a few km? Most people looking at small to medium crossovers, are either childless and like the high driving position and looks; or are parents with one or 2 children and they are searching for a good-looking crossover that is a little roomier than their hatchback. People who need bigger cars, are looking at bigger cars than this. I've been driving for years now, and the rear seats of my cars were pretty much unused until I had children. Unless your children play in the NBA and you need to drive them to practice, any car will be fine. I drive the 2019 Yaris hybrid, I'm 183cm tall and I have a huge rear-facing child-seat behind me. No problems here

This looks just like my 2018 CHR xle premium. The only difference is that the trunk is a little bigger and they upgraded the info system. . I get around 27 to 28 mpg . Now I love my CHR and I get compliments and it served me well for over 3 years now.

We had the original 1.8 Limited Edition for 3 years. Went to upgrade it to the new 2 litre version but the relocation of the regular 12v battery killed the boot space. We went for a top spec RAV4 hybrid instead & it’s excellent. It doesn’t look as funky though.

You mentioned the volvo xc 40 as a comparison in price for the high spec model, But the C-hr handles better, drives better & is WAY more economical, also you will only get the low spec Volvo for the same money.

Uber drivers don't drive the Prius PHEV, I do and its excellent. The usual nonsense about the performance and the gearbox, the engine is not noisy and the engine doesn't rev up like mad at all, unless you floor the accelerator. Its not meant to be a sports car, its a funky looking hybrid designed with low fuel consumption in mind. Comparing the engine to a lawn mower is childish.

I bought mine CHR in 2018. No issues what so ever than last winter hit. The CHR is not good in snow over 3 inches. My Sports car does better in the snow. Looking for a AWD now.

Show us the drag race between Toyota C-RV 1, 8 and Dacia Sandero in that point 😁

there is 2.0L hybrid version wich has 180-something hp... if i would by a hybrid chr, that would be it... it will still have low consumption when you drive 40-50km/h, but also lower consumption on highways and better acceleration which comes handy if you want to take over a car...

its a decent car. cheap affordable. Just wish it has better visuals, awkward design makes it hard to see incoming cars both front and back while merging or turning. Also AC takes a long time to cool the car, and sometimes doesnt even reach the backseat. People in the back seat get a bit warm during the summertime even with the AC on

It's really nice to look at, credit to the designer on this one, it's really nice.

Not a family car and not a sports one either, but it's got great looks, drives and handles so well, fantastic fuel economy comfortable front seats that can have you drive for hours and great cornering dynamics plus reliability that's unmatched (have you ever seen a Toyota on the side of a road broke down?). Oh and it's easy on the pocket with interval service. Yes there are sexier cars out there but l want a car that works for me, not me working for it.
