Reminds me of autistic humans with touch aversion.

The sensation of touch can be extremely overwhelming, not painful, but aversive due to the sensation itself. They can still want hugs and other forms of social contact but they have to be the one who initiates to prevent an overeaction.

Every time alcohol comes up in a sci-fi story, I imagine a funny scenario where one critter is insisting on day-drinking, and others disapprove, not realizing that her species _requires_ ethanol to function.

This kinda reminds me of another of your stories, where there were arachnid aliens, that other aliens thought humans were scared of, since they were always giving them good deals, and were later controlled by other aliens to wage war against the humans. Kinda wish i remember the title of it, since i'd like to listen to it again.

Humans in her position..should really fight the urge to develop anthropomorphic traits to their students.
They are students ..not pets .

What the fuck are these comments? Tons of numbered comments, people complaining about unrealistic standards, baseless accusations towards characters in the story...

All these students have no clue how members of other species communicate basic reactions (fear, joy, happiness, etc)!
It's really a shame!!
