Israel music festival survivor recounts escape from Hamas

A music festival in Israel was the site of one of the first attacks by Hamas over the weekend. Amit Musaei, who attended the festival, joins CBS News to share his story of escape.

Amit was our tour guide for 2 weeks in September and I grew very fond of him. I'm so very glad he is ok, but I'm just sick to hear of his friends that are missing. Amit, I am praying for Selin, Shiraz, and Adir every single day.

I understand the delayed reaction of the concert goers. You just don’t realize what’s happening when one moment changes from another. Our car caught on fire three days ago and I didn’t realize what was happening until some angel of a human stopped and screamed at us to get out of the car. This attack was so fast just like a fire.

What a terror, to have paragliders come in with guns while you're partying. I think I would have fainted before I made it to my car. So sad. Many families on both sides losing their loved ones. I don't think it's been this bad since the early 2000s, if ever.

When I saw his eyes initially, I said to myself this man is traumatized. He appears shell shocked by all the horrific things he saw. The pain in his eyes is glaringly obvious. I hope all such survivors are able to heal and do not suffer from survivor's guilt as I heard one man mention.

Thank you for sharing your story, sir. I can't even imagine the atrocities that Israel is having to go through. One thing that stuck out to me during this interview was that the festival concert survivor describes events of that day, then the interviewer asks: If you're used to the rockets & sirens, what made you leave at that time? Uh, common sense! What kind of question was that!?
