Such a cool pedal with so many applications! Do bass players need their own version that doesn't go as low or maybe one that has an octave higher too?! That would be cool. Let me know in the comment section below!

See the full specs of the Drop on the Digitech website:

Don't forget you can follow me on Instagram and submit your bass to be featured on my "Sexy Basses" story highlight thread.

I can't stress enough how underrated this channel is. So many reviews for stuff I was or am considering and yet couldn't find a good review on. Amazing work, playing, editing and content choices! BTW I remember watching the Jack & Danny bass review, immediately looked it up. Found your review there too 😅😅

Edit: if I could offer some advice, it'd be to ask the like - sub question right after the intro or thereabouts. Such great work has to be seen by more of us bassists! Have a great day 😁

If I remember correctly the guitarist of Oceans Ate Alaska uses two of these for some super low breakdowns

I haven't tried digidrop but I bet you can get away with the lower settings and track even better if you run a compressor pedal and use it as a clean boost before going to the digidrop and then use a preamp after the digidrop.

These pedals are great. The kemper has a similar transpose function built in but the digitech does it better. Great for playing live with!

This is a great demo of the pedal. :)
I'mma buy this for my bass player so he won't have to use elevator cables for strings when our guitar player brings out the guitar that he tunes waaaay below our standard A#.

Hey Jonny,
I've had this one in my setup for a while now. I bought it to use it in my U2 tributeband as the original guys are switching from standard E tuning to half a step down all the time and it would save me an extra bass on stage. In general it does what it should do and does that very well, as long as you don't go further than 2 or steps down, as you mentioned :)
However it's the polyphonic part where it's lacking a bit according to my opnion. I use quite a lot of chords and when striking one with the Drop switched on I'm not very happy with the tone quality. Sound as if there's a lack of calculation capacity as there seems to be a small delay. Try it and I think you'll know what I mean.
As long as you play single notes though it's good to go for a live-setting. The octave function is also really nice.

Anyway, I ended up with an extra bass on stage AND the Drop in my pedalboard :D

I got a good B Stock deal on this. I’ve concluded that I could definitely use this for live and home use for switching tunings on the fly. If I were recording though, I would just tune the bass down accordingly.

With the large number of short scale basses on the market, these pedals seem like a great fit. Shorty strings are already pretty floppy. Drop tuning could require a bridge adjustment.

Wish I’d got this instead of my octave now for all the tuning options. I have a backup 4 string I’d love to be able to flip into BEAD and use with my band. Hmmm maybe il have to get this.

Great video demo man ❤️

Would this pedal help if I wanted to shift from EADG tuning to DGCF tuning on the fly? I've been trying to learn "The Less I Know The Better" by Tame Impala, and it's tedious switching tunings constantly when I get bored.

HI Jonny! do you notice any latency when you pitch shift using the pedal? I own a TC Electronic Brainwaves and i played a fretless bass.. when i detune using the pedal, i do notice some latency, a bit slow in attack.

ever since I saw it in a Premier Guitar review, I've been interested in one. good option to do covers, without having to have so many bass guitarrs at the same time.

Sounds amazing! This may be what I have been looking for, I play didgeridoo (it's at Low C#) and enjoy running it through a Kick Drum Mic into my Bass amp, then running it with delay and reverb, I can get some pretty incredible sounds out of it :D But I have been wanting to find something that could let me drop the tone further so I could get a incredibly deep, almost soundscape rumble, do you think this would work? Thanks for the amazing video 🙏

This pedal sounds so accurate, I couldn't really distinguish between A and B. Do you think you could do one of those phone filmed videos going over how you record and what equipment you use?

I have a question, very important to me. Can i use this in my 5 strings bass to go from B E A D G to G# C# F# B E, without losing sound quality? Is for metal, extreme metal haha

Great review, I have a cheap multi effect pedal that does a similar thing but not as well. I want to get one of these for when I start putting together a pedal board.

Hello, is it a special pedal for bass guitar or is there only one model (which we find on many websites) for guitar that corresponds to a use with a bass guitar? thank you and great demonstration

My bassist is tuned to drop B 4 string, but we want to write songs in Drop G. Would this work? I believe it would be 4 knobs down. On the whammy DT pedal, it starts to sound artificial. Would a compressor pedal fix this issue, or something else?
