River Lullaby Lyrics:

Hush now, my baby
Be still love, don't cry
Sleep as you're rocked by the stream
Sleep and remember
My last lullaby
So I'll be with you when you dream

River oh River, flow gently for me
such precious cargo you bear
Do you know somewhere he can be free?
River dear River

This is by far one of Dreamwork's most beautiful movies to date. The animation, the music, the story, the casting choices...all are absolutely stunning. This song is just one illustration of that beauty.

That last note was amazing. It sounds like her cry of despair for losing her son even though she's still singing. Outstanding.

I know it's suppose to be a sad song, but I just keep singing this song to my unborn son in my stomach along with once upon a December from the Anastasia movie. To me they're both very beautiful songs.

Saddest movie moment I've ever witnessed. I was barely old enough to understand life at all and I was sobbing at this scene each time I watched it.

Her voice should win every award possible

Her voice is too heavenly. Is the voice actor an angel from heaven? Sounds like it!

Her voice is so dreamy. When you’re lost in the deepest part of the darkness, it is her voice that will lead you to the light

My favorite part of Deliver Us. It sounds like she's crying and praying in this (as she should be). That's why the pop version of this sounds off to me.

My 7 month old baby boy just fell asleep to this song

This song is one of the most beautiful and haunting compositions I've ever heard.
It is at one point a lullaby cooing a baby away from the harshness of the world then a cry to the heavens to watch over him.
It arrests the senses, sending goosebumps all over and forcing tears.

I'm not religious, but this story was told with immense beauty and passion. A masterpiece.

Also, does anyone have recommendations for songs that play into moments like 1:06. I don't think I'm alone in saying that's where my mind was blown to smithereens.

3 days postpartum here. I sang this song to my baby boy the whole time he was in the womb. I was doing skin to skin with him just now and I decided I wanna sing to him so I pulled up this song and as soon as it started playing I could barely sing because I had just burst into tears. It’s just the fact that I’ve been waiting 9 months for this moment, the moment that I finally get to hold him in my arms while I sing to him. God is so good. He designed it so that all the beautiful things in life are the things you have to wait the most for and that just makes them even more beautiful when the time comes. Remember to trust the Lord. God bless you all.

when i was a young boy my dad used to tell me all these cool stories, sometimes he would tell me bible stories, he would always focus on the good things. First time i watched this i cried like a little girl, everything seemed so sad and dark. I am a grown man now and it still kills me inside every time i watch this.

I haven't seen this move in years and this song just came into my head tonight. When I was a child I adored this movie, now watching this scene it's brought me to tears. An incredibly underrated movie.

I've been looking for the perfect clip of this song for years. Because this song reminds me of my birth mother who I never got to meet. I'll meet her hopefully next year. This song brings her close and I can't thank you enough tears streamed down my cheeks listening to this thank you, thank you.

I do fine until I see the poor mama crying and then I tear up. I can't imagine how brave she was to do such a thing or how heartbreaking it must've been, even if she had two other children.

Haven't watched this in over 12 years. I heard someone sing it and it instantly took me back to my childhood. It made me legit pause mentally.
