I love the 3000GT. What you forgot to mention is the 3000GT from 1997-1999 base model is the only one starting around 170 HP. Previous years span at around 210-220. They also have AERO mode spoiler, tunable exhaust and a performance mode for shocks that stiffens them. Also rear whee steering. Id love one they’re insanely under-appreciated.

I bought my IS300 back in October 2021 for about $3200. For 200k miles it was in fantastic condition, it was bone stock and wasn't beat to a pulp. The more I drive it, the more I love it. I can't wait to actually start modding it, but I do wanna get all the maintenance and small stuff done first. After that, its go time.

Bro I’m Australian and thought the Mitsubishi 3000gt would be sick so I check price and it’s like minimum $30k aud. I wish there were more lists that accommodate for us aussies :(

I used to own a 1987 z31 and it was fun to drive. Underpowered and heavy, but I loved the smooth as butter 5 speed... just beautiful. Great sounding car, and don't forget those popups and t-tops!!

The 300ZX Z31 only made 160hp unless you had the turbo engine, both of which you can get under 5k like you said

I'm happy to see you have an accord up there. They definitely don't get the recognition they deserve but I feel like the cd5/7 accords are more underrated than the cb7.

Love cb7! The popular swap for accords are h series motors. They come out of the prelude. Which is another golden honda! The f series motor that come in them are food for boost. So even tho it's a single jingle, people love em.

I got an old Sentra as my first car cause it’s all I could afford, once you do the proper maintenance and play around with some aftermarket upgrades these cars handle so smoothly

There are a few questionable remarks in this video… 1. Rotary reliability - if you properly maintain and premix an NA rotary, it will be extremely reliable. Even turbo rotaries are reliable if you tune them right and properly manage the heat generated (I’ve owned and modified a FD RX7). 2. The 3KGT VR4, if you find one for under 5k, you better have 10k to get it road worthy… probably more! I had a 92 VR4, just to fix the trans synchros in 2001 was $3500.

My first and only car right now is an accord cb7 and I love it. Great for getting into the car scene.

Love the bugeye. The USDM Hawkeye was sold as a 2.55/2.57 though, they produce roughly 250/300 hp respectively and are drastically different than their 2 liter cousins because of their significantly higher low end torque. Also they blow up more ;)

For a beginner I’d also recommend the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliarts. Nowhere near the level as an Evo but still fun to modify and lots of interchangeable parts with evos as well. Price ranges around 2-4 k.

The early 00s sentra Spec-V is a great manual transmission daily driver with a suspension that says "you can feel the entire road" i loved it back in the day
