Watch the scene in 4K if your device supports it as the picture will be noticeably sharper due to the higher bitrate.

Throat singing, human sacrifice for space imperial soldiers, bloody rituals on rainy day, futuristic language spoken with unnatural low voice... I love it.

The amount of "show, don't tell" in this scene is masterful

This is one of the first times I've watched a movie and experienced a weird feeling that what I was seeing was totally alien. Futuristic humans always have 21st century feel to them but these humans feel truly futuristic to the point it's nearly unrecognizable

Never expect a futuristic army with plain looking space suit would actually be so terrifying, the environment, the ritualistic sacrifices and the chant, just oozes power.

POV: your chainsmoking grandma singing you a lullaby before bedtime.

I love how it only took this one scene to establish the Sardukar as one of the most fearsome armies of all time. So fierce and so cult like that they’re barely even human.

This is a perfect example of visual storytelling. No deep, complicated exposition of the Sadukar, just crazy ass visuals that implies everything you need.

Piter's little reptilian blink at the very end there makes his character even more unnerving.

I like how he's not even speaking an obscure foreign language. It's just plain English if you ran it through several accents and a hundred years of minor alterations. Genius touch.

Damn great scene. I think Villeneuve manages to depict this part of the Dune culture wonderfully.

Ok, Dennis Villeneuve is the guy to bring Warhammer 40k to live.

They mark the living soldiers with the blood of the dead ones...almost as if to show that all Sardaukar soldiers serve eternally, even in death.

It should be noted, the first phrase spoken in this chant is interpreted as "dreams are messages from the deep"

I've never felt so totally dipped into an environment like Dune. Love this shit and honestly if the movie kept going for another 7 hours i'd friggin still be there. Genuinely felt like a fly on a wall in a completely different universe.

This is how I imagined Salusa Secundus when I first read dune forty years ago. Brilliant.

I can't even imagine the training exercises the Sardaukar are put through.

Pause at 1:15 de Vries blinks, but one eye closes first. The other is rolled back into his head, which is a signal that a mentat is performing a calculation. He blinks to try and disguise it.

Fun fact: 6 out of every 13 boys raised to be Sardaukar die from their training environment...before age 11.

I don't know why, but this is my favorite scene of this awesome movie.
