One thing that I’ve always thought was real cool with Tyson, is his serious love for animals

"Super lions, " often referring to lions found in the Okavango Delta, are considered larger than other lion populations due to the abundance of large prey like buffalo in their environment, which requires them to develop greater muscle mass and strength to take down such animals, combined with the challenging terrain of the delta which necessitates strong swimming and walking through water, further building their muscle development; essentially, their size is an adaptation to their unique ecosystem and prey availability.

I think he is talking about Okovongo river delta. Its not so much the buffalo. The lions have to tread water a lot just to get by. They are constantly exercising their muscles.

It's Okavango Delta in Botswana. And the fact that they have swim must of the time to roam around also helps in buffing them up. If you look at them closely you'll see, their front legs are way bigger than their hind legs.

I think the biggest Lions currently live in the Ngorongoro crater. They’re all massive with full Wooly Mammoth manes😂 They never run out of prey and water in that area. Always a buffet for them!

I remember a documentary about this. It's not just their food source but also that they are chasing down prey in thick mud/high water all the time. The extra resistence, energy, and endurance needed is why their muscle and body grew so much larger. They basically been hittin the gym all their life lol

The lions of Duba Plains in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. The documentary is by Dereck and Beverly Joubert, called Relentless Enemies. Jeremy Irons narrates the documentary, well worth watching.

Darwinism was always interesting to me. This is a great example of it, those lions are slowly evolving😮
