Male lions hunt a lot more than most people seem to realize. They’re usually on their own for years before taking over a pride of their own & they have to eat lol Plus, they’ll hunt solo or w the other males in their coalition, while they’re away from their prides, which is quite often. Then, when their pride gets overtaken by younger, stronger males…they have to fend for themselves. They’re very efficient hunters, especially when there’s multiple males.

Actually I saw a piece about a male tiger stepping in to raise his half grown cubs when the tigress had died... Whole nine yards, Mr. Mom took care of his two cubs. It was amazing to watch
