The story
behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the
same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart
attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash
revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental
technique, is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist!
Brilliant! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is
A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his
name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together
with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in
the video accompanying Dimash.

Everyone in the audience should be standing after this performance. What they are witnessing is not human

He's only 24. He's from Khazhkstan. His parents are performers and he's had formal training, including opera since he was very young. Amazing, isn't he?

What gets me with Dimash every single time is that he can sing in a language I don't know at all, and I can still feel the song emotionally. He can really make you feel the song. That paired with his impeccable technique and amazing talent is just crazy awesome.

That special tribal riff was achieved by vibrating the larynx and is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia and other parts of Asia but, not, to my knowledge the Middle East. A Kazakh youtuber commented: Dimash used singing kazakh technique, that called 'komeymen aytu', You can hear it from the Turan Group. Saha people ( Rus) uses this technique too, they called it 'kylyhah'.

He was trained for almost ten years. He started training when he was 7 up to 16 years old so getting on that level isn't just for his existing talent but the hardwork and the dedication he put into it and this is the result. The person who has the widest range probably in all of history. I'm so lucky to be alive at the same time as dimash! 💕

4:32 did he just do?" - Love it when even vocal mistresses are blown away by his skill.

What I find so impressive - and almost humbling - is the degree of faith and commitment his parents and close family had in little Dimash when they had realized his gift early on and dedicated themselves to leading this amazing human being through decades of training, never wavering in their support, never doubting his ability to eventually blossom into this phenomenal artist and performer. That, just as much as what he can do now as a result of all this hard work and dedication, is what cannot help but restore one's faith in the greatness of the human potential. Hugely inspiring..!!!

I actually first heard Dimash for the first time watching your reaction video of SOS. I have to say, as a lifelong musician, there are those rare times where an artist moves us deeply and emotionally. This guy is unreal. His range is almost inhuman. But his tone, control, and technique is probably the best I’ve ever heard. And thank you Tara. It’s nice to hear such insightful critique and opinion. You’re the real deal and much respect to you. Not to mention your very pleasing to watch. Beautiful and intelligent. I’m subscribed and have been watching all of your vids. You have a new fan. I’ll be looking forward to new videos and new discoveries. Merry Christmas. ☃️🎄
