Ava’s character feels so real because the story actually portrays real life problems and doesn’t sugar coat it like all the other things I watched. To be honest, I felt emotional when the sisters and parents were talking because I know my parent’s favorite is my brother and I think I’ve been acting out since 3rd grade being friends with people who swear and look down on other people.

When Emily was having trouble with sensorineural hearing loss, It was pretty cool that the students didn’t make fun of her because of it. I feel sorry for Ava for not getting the same attention from their parents and I just love that Emily still wants to be there for her especially when Ava was hanging out with the wrong crowd.

I understand that Emily’s parents would want to give her extra attention because of her hearing loss, but they still should have treated both daughters equally. I’m glad that Emily cared about Ava and loved her no matter how mean and jealous she was. I’m just glad the family had a heart to heart talk. You know, all that trouble could have been avoided if they had a talk a long time ago.
