I spent decades living in the middle of the woods. That first one is definitely a couple of guys. That honestly makes it scarier. Animals and creatures I've handled just fine, it's when the strangers come walking through the woods that I lock everything up as fast as possible.

If someone approaches your vehicle in the dead of the night you’re better off alerting whoever it is that WE are armed and you hear them, and that if they don’t respond you need to drive away immediately. Sitting there hiding inside a vehicle just seems like you’re waiting for whoever it is to break in before acting.

Being in the woods can really mess with your head. I recall a time camping with a friend that sounded like a dozen or so monkeys where screaming in the trees around us. Spoke to some people after and they say we probably heard turkeys flying over. This happened in southern ohio so turkeys makes alot more sense than monkeys obviously.

The woods is the perfect fear of the unknown similar to the ocean. You never know truly what is out there and even if you do. You don’t know how close sometimes you can get to danger because of the dense foliage
