Thanks for this, Audible is really expensive and I am out of work right now so this is a great alternative for me and many others who are on a budget. Granted the selection is not as good, but it is a free service so that's to be expected. But there is still a ton of content available and it is all free. I found audio books at my library that were going for like 30-40 bucks on audible that I was able to listen to for free.

Hey, words aren’t enough to express my gratitude to you. Just discovered my library (New Zealand) has 22k audio books in there via libby. Although most of these are fiction, which I don’t read/listen but still there are hundreds of non-fiction books many of which, I’m sure, would be of my interest. Thanks man

The Lord of the Rings he has reserved is an ebook. On Libby, audiobooks say ‘play sample’, his LOTR said ‘read sample’. It also does not have the same audiobooks as Audible, just a much smaller selection.

Thank you dear... I am not living in US. I created an online membership with Newyork Public Library in 2 minutes by giving US address, got a Library Card and registered in the app, all in 5 minutes.
Edit:- The membership expired after 15 days for not producing necessary documents...😪

When I signed up for audible, (just to get one specific book), I didn't realize I wasn't going to be able to download it. ...so basically, always have to have internet access and always have to maintain a membership. I would not have joined if I had realized. My bad, I needed to research more, but honestly it never even occurred to me that I wasn't purchasing, just renting. Thanks for giving me the push I needed to cancel my membership.
