Great tips as always Justin.

I really hope Layout get some more love over the next few maintenance updates.

I run a solo practice and can find Layout painfully slow with any model over 80mb when reloading viewports over 8 or more pages.

Its a great intuitive app, but they really need to work on performance before any bigger practices will adopt it.

I do an offset of say 2 or 3mm then fill it in the black in sketchup. This way you can make different item, usually walls have a different line weight. It work a lot faster for me.

Hi Justin, as a general comment, I find your online tutorial are very helpful - I'm a senior architect returning to small private practice. BUT, this video explaining how to vary line weights in SKP is way way too complex and not at all convenient. SKP wants to compete with AutoCAD then these sort of "customizing" have got to become much more convenient.

I hope sketchup really steps up layout into a full fledged documentation suite, nobody should put in this much effort to communicate their design.

you can configure in Layout in the list of layers the thickness, the color and the line style for each tag
EDIT: What I say is just for what you see and not for what you cut with a section plane
