What a stunning voice. One of my all-time favourite Records.

Great track. She deserved a much bigger career. It's a tragedy that she wasn't signed by Stax or Motown, where she would have had access to quality material. She co-wrote this hit, but had to fight in courts for years to get the credit and royalties. That really takes its toll on one's spirit.

I've always loved the irony that the Fontalla Bass orginal of Rescue Me happens to have the greatest single walking bass line - ever!

My mom had that exact jacket. She was white, but she introduced me to Motown, against my dad's wishes - he hated black music in general. RIP, Mom.

Still remember the very first time I heard it. My brother tried to convince me that it was Aretha. (No... he didn't get me!) I was so impressed that I bought the album not even caring whatever else was on it. The voice sealed the deal for me.

This track is timeless.
Given the proper support I wouldn’t mind betting it could be a big hit again.

1965 I was five years old when this song was out by Fontella Bass Rescue me. Who still remember this song. Whatever happened to Fontella Bass? After she made that hit song nobody never heard from her no more.

F.B.'s music is like a breath of heaven. She is to soul like warmth is to the freezing cold.
