They're spongier in 3, but they kill you way faster in NV. I say NV's are harder just because you can't cheese them with armor or Dart Gun though.

The weapons suck in fallout 3, so that makes every enemy a lot harder to kill.

The deathclaws in NV were far more harder to kill, but the weapons were a lot better.

I killed all the deathclaws in the lair and then they respawned outside of the cave. That was a very strategic day of trying to get away.

New Vegas: Easier to kill, but strong attacks that make getting in melee range inadvisable

Fallout 4: Nice design, better and more realistic movement, not particularly threatening though in comparison to types in earlier games

Fallout 76: Closely resembles types in Fallout 4, seem a bit stronger, or at least feels more threatening somehow. Might just be me though, Idk

Deathclaws in New Vegas are fast, but their underbelly seems to be their weak point. I was using the Survivalist Rifle and Hunting Revolver with 75 gun skill and I was surprised to see their health get chopped down in a few shots. Then again, I was also using a high luck crit build with Boone’s hat and Joshua Graham’s armor 😅
