Показать описание
Wolf Ranch Genesis in Georgetown will have 100 3D printed homes when it is built out. This also represents how the home building industry is buying into the 3D construction process.

#FOX7Austin brings you the important stuff like breaking news, weather, and local stories out of Central #Texas. But also plenty of fun stuff, like Pet of the Weekend, the best of our archives, and all those 'only-in-#Austin' stories.

This is just another way for Lennar to cut costs, and not offer any discount to the buyer

you eliminate most of the labor (people) and charge half a million dollars! No thank you!

Checked these houses myself few days ago

Lennar doesn’t give flooring option (it’s difficult to have wooden flooring). There is just smoothened concrete floor . Which cracks btw and can be more over time . Checked their model home and the curves and texture seems to be bad ideas in bathroom. Also there can’t be 2 story houses. The structure can’t take it .

Overall it’s still a long way to be habitable imo

I thought 3-D printing was supposed to make houses cheaper?

Wonder how they'll hold up over time? Will it prone to crack with heat and cold cycles?

So many questions... How do fix a burst pipe? How do you hang stuff on walls & patch if you move it? What if you want to add, change, repair electrical? I have looked at several videos of other homes like these that discolor over time. And these have concrete floors too in one of the videos & it's a huge echo chamber. What are flooring options? Yuck, these are fugly.

We had the first one built here in Austin Tx, it took them over 4 years to build it. It is the most hideous looking thing we have ever seen. Looks like a wasps nest house😂🤣

Its interesting and has potential but needs work like finishing easily. Right now seems very complicated to do the drywall etc. Great potential, high tech but low finish. Also the set up the machine seems difficult. Might be good as is in 3rd world countries thar need 3mergency homes

This will grow rapidly in the future, and there will be 3D printers capable of constructing tall skyscrapers.

I heard on other videos that those 3D printed houses cost just a fraction of what building a regular house will be AND it can be build a lot faster also.
I even saw an architect saying that you could put $3500 dollars down and pay around $300/month and in 7 years will be yours instead of 30. So these guys are literally stealing your money.

They will still crack and require ongoing maintenance... don't be fooled, or foolish paying those prices.

475, 000 dollars? So whats the point then if its so much more expensive than just buying a normal one

There not selling 😮... Texas has a huge over supply of new homes sitting on the market. Unless they offer homes like this at significantly lower prices, no one will buy them, when they can get a traditional stick build home cheaper. ..its just a cement box. It sort of has the image of buying a mobile home.
