This is why football will never use artificial turfs/grass. Footballers make so many quick turns and stops every game so its crucial their foot slightly sinks into the ground to prevent knee injuries. Thats why basketball players have so many more injuries; they play on hard ground. Artificial turfs were actually tested in football in the 90s, but after just a couple seasons we ditched them mostly
